John Allen

John Allen joined Digisoft.tv in 2001. Prior to this, John managed outsourced digital media software projects to the European Television industry, particularly in Germany, UK and Italy.
During the early company phase, John and a large team of DigiSoft.tv employees were involved in R+D activities, developing software for more than 10 European broadcasters. His technical background coupled with his expertise in systems and iTV process flow, keep him very much a part of the DigiSoft visionary team.
A regular speaker on the iTV event circuit, John's expertise in iTV business modelling has allowed for his experience and industry interface to become a invaluable asset for DigiSoft and customers alike.
John holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science from University College Cork in Ireland and has over 13 years experience in the development and deployment of commercial software solutions.

Shari Barnett

Barnett joined the Microsoft TV organization in March 2001. She previously served as group product manager, cable solutions, for Microsoft TV, where she oversaw the development and deployment of Microsoft’s Foundation Edition software platformt. Prior to that, Barnett spent three years managing WebTV’s Interactive TV Support Group and overseeing broadcast services.
Barnett’s previous 18 years were spent as a producer and executive producer creating film and video programming, games and applications for a number of leading companies in the Silicon Valley and Bay Area. While working as director of game development at Silicon Gaming, manager of the interactive TV design team at Silicon Graphics, and senior producer at Colossal Pictures, Barnett worked with major advertisers, networks and content providers nationally.

Walter I. Delph has a breadth of professional experience that includes operations, finance and strategic planning. Since 2004, Mr. Delph has worked at Verizon Communications as a Director in its FiOS TV Video department. He oversees FiOS TV’s IPTV content strategy, gaming service, cross platform convergence and content acquisition. In this capacity, he directs the business development and operational execution of deals with FiOS TV’s traditional and multimedia content partners. He also works closely with Verizon’s product management to develop new products and services with this content, particularly on the broadband and wireless platforms.
Prior to joining Verizon Communications, Mr. Delph was at Time Warner as a member of Time Warner’s MBA Management Program. His primary focus was on originating, structuring and negotiating new business opportunities for the Time Inc division. In addition he worked with Fortune 500 advertisers to design and implement advertising pricing solutions for Time Warner properties. Mr. Delph started his career in media at TradeOut, a new media company focused on business-to-business trading, where he was responsible for strategic marketing and business development. He is a former investment banker with Goldman Sachs and was responsible for originating, structuring and executing over $1 billion in financings.
Mr. Delph holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Middlebury College.

Amy Friedlander-Hoffman

Amy Friedlander is the senior vice president, Programming, for AT&T Operations. As AT&T enters the video market to compete with cable and satellite, Ms. Friedlander will oversee interactive programming and convergence for Project Lightspeed, the initiative to expand the fiber-optics network deeper into neighborhoods to deliver AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet U-verse Enabled and, in the future, voice over IP services.
Preceding AT&T, Ms. Friedlander headed a strategic consulting practice, Xanthum Partners, which helped clients from around the globe with content strategy, negotiation and acquisition, and programming and packaging development.
Ms. Friedlander was previously general counsel and senior vice president of business development for Intertainer, the first VOD service delivered over both broadband and cable, and helped the company raise more than $100 million from companies such as Microsoft, Comcast, Intel, Qwest, Sony, NBC and Thomson Consumer Electronics. She was responsible for negotiating content agreements with the major studios and programmers, distribution agreements with cable companies and telcos, and general technology ventures. In the business development role, Ms. Friedlander was responsible for international development and led her team to implement Intertainer’s strategy related to content distribution and software services.
Prior to her tenure with Intertainer, Ms. Friedlander practiced corporate law at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles.
Ms. Friedlander holds a JD from the University of Chicago and a BA with honors from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining the company, Don worked for ten years as an independent filmmaker. In this role he produced, wrote, and directed numerous projects including feature films; broadcast television for MTV, Universal, and Scripps Networks; music videos; and corporate industrials for companies like AOL, A&E Network, Fine Living Network, Entertainment Weekly magazine, GNC Corporation, KPMG, and JP Morgan Chase.
His work has been featured in Child magazine, TimeOut New York, and Filmmaker magazine. He has been recognized by many organizations including the Independent Feature Project, one of the largest independent film organizations in the United States, and was chosen as iFilm.com's “Filmmaker to Watch.”
Don is based in New York and reports to Kirsten Rasanen, director, Product Management, TV Guide Online.

Lucy Goldenhersh

In her current role as Vice President, Distribution—New Technologies at Lifetime, Lucy Goldenhersh oversees Lifetime’s On Demand business and liaises with Lifetime’s distribution partners on new media initiatives.
Prior to joining Lifetime, she led business development at Movielink and, before that, served as a corporate Vice President at Universal, where she worked with emerging business lines across music, motion picture, and television divisions and spearheaded studio-wide content protection strategy. While at Universal, she was actively involved in launch of the DVD format, worked with Universal Music to build out on-line music distribution and served as lead negotiator for the DVD-audio/ Super Audio CD formats. She also served as Universal’s lead representative to the MPAA’s Special Policy Group, the industry’s coordinating body for worldwide policy issues, where she negotiated industry positions on a broad range of legislative and regulatory matters, including the DMCA and the Open Cable initiative.
Prior to Universal, she was a Business Affairs executive at Disney. She holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan and a B.A. from Stanford University.

Paula Montondo

Paula Montondo, CEO and Founder of Short Brain TV formerly Blip TV, realized the potential market for short films and video clips in the emerging mobile market. Montondo has taken Short Brain TV from concept to fruition and has secured contracts with Sprint, Mobi TV, ROK TV, and Cellfish, as well as other major mobile and new media outlets. Before founding Short Brain TV, Montondo was part of key management of New Generation Films, one of the first on-line streaming media companies with a proprietary streaming technology. Montondo headed up Content Development and Licensing, creating and closing content deals with major content providers, establishing marketing strategies for each film and worked closely with the technology to improve its delivery. Montondo has been a speaker at major film markets and festivals such as AFM, Cannes and The NY Indie Film Festival. Prior to her work in film Montondo spent 20 years in the music industry as a producer and engineer. She worked for labels such as: Arista, Warner Brothers, Universal and Mercury Records and worked with artists: Alan Jackson, ZZ Top, Etta James, Peter Wolf, Brad Paisley, Amy Grant, Leanne Rimes as well as many independent artists. Sheau Ng

Sheau has been with the digital revolution from the start, contributing to MPEG, ATSC, DVD, and various technical standards activities. His career spans from compression research to product development in consumer electronics, semiconductors, and content/media industries. He was an contributing member of the Grand Alliance team, working at Sarnoff in late 80s. In early 90s, Sheau was part of Toshiba's DVD team, where he helped build the world's first DVD encoder. While at Toshiba, he also chaired the DAVIC 1.0 Technical Committee. Later, he was the architect of Philips first consumer HDTV on the ATSC market. At Philips, and later on at ATI, he was responsible for the software architecture of their DTV system-on-chip solutions. Sheau is now a vice president at NBC Universal, with responsibility in the areas of consumer and broadcast technology, standards, and policy. He chairs the Content Protection Task Group in the High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA). He is an active member at the CEA IPTV OCC, and many other industry groups. He is focusing his attention on making digital entertainment a worldwide reality. Sheau holds graduate degrees from M.I.T., and had done post-graduate work at Princeton University. He also attended the executive MBA program at INSEAD. He currently holds over 30 patents worldwide. He lives in Boston with his wife and two children.

Conleth O'Connell

Conleth O'Connell, Ph. D is chief technology officer at Vignette Corporation. Dr. O'Connell is responsible for driving new technology and innovation within the company. Dr. O'Connell joined Vignette in 1996 as one of the company's first engineers and helped develop Vignette's initial product offering.
Prior to becoming CTO, Dr. O’Connell held multiple engineering and architect roles and influenced the company's support for open standards by participating in various standards committees including W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), OASIS, and WS-I (Web Services Interoperability).
Dr. O'Connell joined Vignette from HaL Computer Systems where he led product development efforts and participated in the Davenport Group, a consortium that created an SGML distribution format for online documents called the DocBook DTD. Prior to that, Dr. O'Connell spent time as a director of an Industrial Consortium, where he supervised graduate students who produced an integrated software architecture and later co-authored a book on the architectural design of the project.
Dr. O'Connell was recently honored as a Distinguished Alumni by Ohio State University where he holds a master's degree and Ph. D in computer information systems. Dr. O’Connell holds a patent for innovation in content management and delivery, with several more pending.

Craig Peters

As the head of footage and multimedia, Peters is responsible for growing footage collections, attracting new customers, driving the development of a new web site and advancing technological improvements, along with developing new business models and improving the overall customer experience. Peters joined Getty Images following the acquisition of WireImage parent company MediaVast, where he served as senior vice president of new media and strategic development. His responsibilities included general management of the company’s worldwide video and mobile businesses as well as identifying, evaluating and structuring key strategic relationships.
In 2005, Peters was awarded an Emmy by the National Television Academy for Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Enhancement of Original Television Content. Prior to joining MediaVast, Peters led business development for FOX Sports Interactive, led new media strategy and business development for the PGA Tour, and spent over four years at Eastman Kodak Company. Peters has implemented major domestic and international partnerships with leading companies in Internet, mobile, satellite radio and other developing media markets. He received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and an undergraduate degree in finance from The Ohio State University.

Patrick Pfeffer, Ph.D.

Dr. Pfeffer has 20 years of experience in telecommunications as a researcher, implementer, and analyst. He leads Detecon’s worldwide next generation television practice. Before joining Detecon, Dr. Pfeffer held various senior management positions with Gluon Networks, Alcatel and U S West. Ken Pyle is co-founder of Viodi, LLC and Managing Editor of the Viodi View, a publication focused on independent telcos’ efforts to offer video to their customers. He has edited and produced numerous multimedia projects for NTCA, US Telecom and Viodi. Pyle is the producer of Viodi’s Local Content Workshop, the Video Production Crash Course at NAB, as well as ViodiTV. He has been intimately involved in Viodi’s consulting projects and has created processes for clients to use for their PPV and VOD operations, as well authored reports on the independent telco market.
Prior to Viodi, LLC, Pyle was Director of Technical Sales for Demand Video, a Video On Demand application service provider which targeted cable television overbuilders. His independent telco experience dates to 1991 with product, project and sales management roles at Raynet and E/O Networks. His experience in the cable industry dates to 1979 with manufacturing, engineering and field service roles at companies, such as Catel and C-COR.

During Stasi’s tenure at TVN the company has introduced several interactive technological advancements, including ADONISS – TVN’s revolutionary asset management technology – as well as platform-independent VOD, and its ensemble of capabilities and enabling technologies.
Prior to joining TVN, Dom served as Vice President and General Manager of Network Operations and Engineering for MTV Networks, and Director of Engineering for HBO.
Stasi is currently President of the Society of Satellite Professionals International, (SSPI) a nonprofit member-benefit society that serves satellite professionals through education, career development and professional recognition. He has served on the NCTA Engineering Committee for 25 years, and is a member of the ATIS, and Digital Cinema Technology Committee of SMPTE.

Kourosh Taj

For the last seven years, Mr. Taj has led NGTV programming, talent acquisition, production, business development, content licensing from studio and record labels, as well acting as the creative director and development director of the NGTV premium channel. Mr. Taj has been in the music and entertainment industry for over 14 years holding various positions in television production, development, licensing, talent booking and operations. Prior to co-founding NGTV, Mr. Taj held the position of Executive Vice President of MusiTopia and spearheaded the creative components and development of a landmark music theme park project for the re-use of the old Atlantic City Convention Center.

Jim West

Jim West has 40 years of experience in radio and television broadcasting as a photographer, reporter, anchor, producer and TV News Director (WTVT, Tampa). More recently, he co-founded, with Lowell W. "Bud" Paxson, the WORSHIP Network, and later went on to start two others, PraiseTV and FaithTV where he presently serves as President. He holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He is married with two grown children. Hobbies include aviation, scuba, photography, and has recently finished writing his first novel.

Before joining RSA, Toffer led product management, marketing and business development for the largest business unit of Empirix, and was also vice president of marketing at a pioneering Java development platform start-up. He is a graduate of the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration and the University of British Columbia.

Evan Young is Director of Broadband Services at TiVo Inc., where he is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of broadband applications, content, and services. He has extensive experience in broadcast, broadband, and consumer services, and has edited books on digital video recording and digital home audio recording and production. Evan has an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Harvard University. While at Stanford, Evan was the founder of “The Future of Entertainment”, an annual business and technology conference about media convergence.

Russell Zack

Zack was the COO of Cauldron Solutions where he is responsible for the overall management of the company. Before co-founding Cauldron, he built several technology companies focused on large vertical industries such as automotive, media and entertainment and telecommunications. Previous industry-related experience includes his time spent as president and CEO of DragonFly Mobile Inc, a mobile data optimization and application company he founded in 2000. Russell also co-founded the interactive media company, Sigma6, in 1994. He holds a BA/BS degree in Digital Multi-Media from the University of Michigan.
